Similarly, Asma Makhlouf, the head of the New Suez City Authority, observed the alignment of equipment and personnel and oversaw a simulation exercise to handle heavy rains and weather fluctuations during the winter season.
She emphasized the full readiness of equipment, disinfection measures for rain drains and flood drains, staff preparedness, and continuous coordination among relevant departments and the operations room. These measures were implemented in accordance with El-Gazzar’s directives to the new city authorities to take multiple steps to combat rain and floods.
In a related context, Mohamed Khalaf Allah, the head of the New Damietta City Authority, inspected the city’s utility works, including the drinking water station operating at a capacity of 2,000 liters per second.
He also reviewed the ongoing development work in the first phase and assessed the sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters per day.
Additionally, he examined 25 lifting stations in the city’s neighborhoods to evaluate their operational and capacity capabilities, along with expulsion lines, in preparation for the winter season and anticipated climate changes.
The review also encompassed electricity sources and alternative sources, ensuring that operation and maintenance companies strictly adhere to work implementation rates to sustain a facility that serves as a crucial development hub in the city.
