El-Gazzar Oversees Developments in New Cairo’s Orasqualia Wastewater Treatment Plant

Assem El-Gazzar, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, oversaw the activation of the sludge digester system at the Orasqualia Waste Water Treatment Plant in New Cairo, Invest-Gate reports.

This advanced dual treatment system, with a daily capacity of 250,000 cubic meters, is a public-private partnership aimed at environmental conservation and climate change mitigation.

The system converts sludge into methane gas, which covers over 50% of the plant’s energy needs, produces organic fertilizer, and reduces odors.

Abdel Muttalib Mamdouh, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority, initiated the operation of the sludge digester system at the plant and inspected New Cairo’s road networks.

The 24 Axis was examined to ensure its swift completion, facilitating transportation and urban development in the area. The 24 Axis is a 10 km long and 75-meter-wide road connecting the southern and northern Teseen axes.

This development aligns with the state’s strategy to enhance traffic flow and accessibility to the New Administrative Capital while bolstering Eastern Cairo’s infrastructure.
