El-Gazzar Receives Award for Promoting Local Products in Urban Development

Assem El-Gazzar, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, was honored with the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Shield for his efforts in promoting the use of local products in various urban development projects across Egypt, Invest-Gate reports.

The award was presented during a ceremony marking the signing of agreements between AOI, Talaat Moustafa Group, and Schneider Elevators to manufacture elevators domestically.

Moreover, El-Gazzar emphasized the ministry’s commitment to supporting local industry and maximizing the use of locally produced components, including elevators. This initiative aligns with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to boost reliance on local products and domesticate modern technologies and industries.

Furthermore, El-Gazzar highlighted that Egypt’s ongoing urban renaissance provides a prime opportunity for local industries to compete by supplying various products needed for development projects.

During the event, El-Gazzar stated, “Today marks a significant event for everyone in the construction and building sector, particularly the Ministry of Housing, the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, and all those involved in the real estate sector.

Also, the elevator industry is crucial for real estate, especially given the significant urban development across Egypt under the leadership of President El-Sisi.”

El-Gazzar expressed hope that the local production of elevators will meet the needs of urban development projects nationwide and enable the export of these elevators to African and Middle Eastern markets. Notably, he wished success for the project, aiming to localize this important industry and implement the political leadership’s directives to adopt modern technologies.
