Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem El-Gazzar has recently inspected ongoing projects in New Assiut City, which include residential, service, utility, and electrical infrastructure projects, as well as road networks and amenities for new areas, Invest-Gate reports.
These efforts aim to meet current and future needs, boost development rates, attract residents, and increase occupancy in the city.
El-Gazzar highlighted that nine residential buildings are being constructed as part of the “Housing for All Egyptians” presidential initiative for low-income citizens. Additionally, a 10.5 km road connecting Old Assiut with New Assiut City is being developed alongside the utilities for 85 feddans in the southeast (medium housing plots) and 1304 feddans in the northwest (medium and premium housing plots). A 2 km tourist promenade is also underway, and a redesign of the raw water pipeline to the treatment plant is being finalized.
Moreover, Yasser Abdallah Ramadan, head of the Nasser City Development Authority, noted the allocation of over 50 plots for investors across various activities, the sale of more than 2,700 residential plots, and over 16 industrial and warehouse plots.
Furthermore, 30 commercial shops, professional units, and more than 200 cemetery plots were sold via public auction. Key infrastructure projects have been completed, such as extending the industrial area’s electricity network and upgrading a 500 m³ water tank. Also, five commercial markets and ten retail centers are being constructed.
Ramadan also reported that the National University (34 feddans), Sphinx University (40 feddans), and the Technological University (15 feddans) are operational, along with two schools and the province’s first amusement park.
Notably, comprehensive security services, taxi services, a bakery, a gas station, and a branch of Wadi Degla Club have been established, with three social clubs set to open soon.
