Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar has revealed that around 24,130 units are under construction in the New Administrative Capital’s (NAC) R3 residential district, marking a completion rate of 75%, Invest-Gate reports.

El Gazzar noted that the housing site, which offers units vary from apartments to villas and townhouses, while boasting some office spaces, is divided into eight neighborhoods, with architectural finishes and electromechanical works finalized for the first and eighth areas, according to a ministerial statement on July 30.

As for NAC’s R5 residential district, called New Garden City, the minister remarked that construction works are underway on 295 residential buildings, 105 villas, 175 townhouses and twin houses, 11 mixed-use residential towers, and 96 mixed-use residential buildings. The area’s completion rate reached 25%, he underlined.

In March, El Gazzar announced plans to conclude the construction and operational works of more than 40,000 residential units in NAC by the end of June 2020.
