Assem El-Gazzar, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has announced the successful removal of encroachments on 10,000 sqm of land with a total value of EGP 17.5 mn, as well as the recovery of an additional 19,660 sqm of land valued at EGP 18 mn in New Suez City, Invest-Gate reports.
The total market value of the lands affected by the encroachments reached approximately EGP 35.5 mn.
El-Gazzar’s statement came during his supervision, alongside Asmaa Makhlouf, the Head of the New Suez City Development Authority, of the implementation of decisions to remove encroachments on state lands and recover the encroached areas. The operation was carried out with the support of security personnel from the reconstruction police responsible for enforcing the removal and retrieval decisions in New Suez.
The Minister emphasized that there will be no tolerance for any encroachments on state lands, and continuous monitoring and enforcement measures are in place. He further explained that while countries support serious investors, they will take decisive action against any violations or encroachments.
In a related development, El-Gazzar, along with Makhlouf, also inspected the progress of the implementation of the Sakan Kol El Masryeen presidential initiative. This initiative involves the construction of 86 buildings comprising 2,064 housing units in the urgent phase of the city. The completion rate in the residential sector has reached 75%.
