El Qalaa El Hamra for Facilities Management has received the necessary approvals from the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) in 6th of October City to commence construction of Al Ahly’s new stadium in Sheikh Zayed, Invest-Gate reports. This marks a milestone in sports investment, strengthening Egypt’s position on the global and regional sports scene.
Dubbed the “Project of the Century,” the EGP 8 bn sports city will feature a 42,000-seat stadium, a state-of-the-art sports hospital, a sports museum documenting Al Ahly’s legacy, a university dedicated to sports education, a specialized sports academy, and a hotel.
Mohamed Kamel, Chairman and CEO of El Qalaa El Hamra, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating: “We are excited to start construction following the unveiling of the stadium’s design. This marks a major step in delivering an integrated sports city that redefines sports infrastructure in Egypt and enhances the country’s presence on the global sports map.”
