El-Sisi Inaugurates Phase IV of Cairo Metro Line III

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has inaugurated Adly Mansour Metro Station, as part of the fourth phase of developing Cairo Metro Line III, Invest-Gate reports.

The Adly Mansour station is deemed one of the significant central stations that will connect the New Administrative Capital (NAC) with all of Egypt’s governorates and new cities, according to a presidential statement on August 16.

During the opening ceremony, El-Sisi also laid the foundation stone of Adly Mansour interchange station, which will link five different transport lines countrywide – Cairo Metro Line III, Cairo Railway Station, SuperJet station, the monorail route, and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) express system, the statement noted.

In addition to the full-service transport complex, the new metro station, which is named after the country’s former interim president Adly Mansour (2013-2014), includes a commercial investment zone, with both spanning a total area of 15 acres.

In July 2015, work on phase IV of the third metro line commenced and is scheduled to be completed in 2022, it further revealed, underlining that the fourth phase includes the Heliopolis, Nozha, Hisham Barakat, Qebaa, Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, Haikstb, and Adly Mansour stations.

In 2015, National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) had awarded an Alstom-led consortium the contract to provide a system and subsystem design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and signaling of centralized control and telecommunication systems for Phase 4A of Cairo Metro Line III.

In November 2017, the Egyptian joint venture of Orascom Construction and Arab Contractors as the main contractor for Phase 4B, whereas Alstom being awarded a subcontract to extend Cairo Metro Line III with additional four stations and the main depot at Adly Mansour.
