Elsewedy Electric for Trading and Distribution, a subsidiary of Egypt’s Elsewedy Electric, inked an EGP 365 mn deal with the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) to carry out electromechanical works at the New Administrative Capital (NAC), Invest-Gate reports.
Under the public-private partnership (PPP) agreement, Elsewedy Electric will contribute to the state’s high-voltage cable project, linking three substations in the new capital, according to the company’s bourse filing on October 29.
The national project will be completed within a 12-month timeframe, “commencing from the date of signing and receiving the advance payment,” Elsewedy Electric pointed out.
As the MENA region’s leading integrated energy solution provider, the Egyptian developer is currently undertaking an array of local and regional infrastructure development projects.
In late August, Elsewedy Electric and Toyota Tsusho Corporation agreed to jointly design and construct two 50-megawatt photovoltaic power plants in Zambia, attempting to make them the largest ever in Africa.
