Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA) has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian German Technical Academy (EGT Academy) to support technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Egypt and MENA region, Invest-Gate reports.
Under the deal, the two academies will cooperate in developing and presenting innovative training initiatives and programs for students in Egypt and neighboring countries, in accordance with international standards, as highlighted in the company’s press release on December 27.
EGT Academy is a joint Siemens and Germany’s GIZ occupational training center based in Egypt, offering industry-specific programs to Egyptian youth.
Commenting on the move, Elsewedy Electric CEO and Managing Director Ahmed Elsewedy said, “This partnership falls in line with our corporate social responsibility to reinforce Egypt’s TVET. That is why we intend to pump more investments to develop human resources and technical personnel in local and regional areas.”
STA’s parent company, Elsewedy Electric, has been gearing all-out efforts to boost the North African country’s educational sector through an array of developments and cooperation agreements.
Last August, Elsewedy Education, the firm’s education arm, was awarded a contract to build a 50-acre campus for hosting The Knowledge Hub Universities (TKH) in Emaar Misr’s New Zayed project, “Cairo Gate,” according to an earlier statement.
