Emaar Hospitality Group to Renovate Iconic Al Alamein Resort

Emaar Hospitality Group, the hospitality and leisure business of global developer Emaar Properties, has commenced the renovation and redesign of the historic Al Alamein Resort in Sidi Abdelrahman Bay on Egypt’s Mediterranean Coast, Invest-Gate reports.

“It is an exceptional honour for us to undertake the modern reinterpretation of the Alamein resort. The people of Egypt have fond memories of the resort, and we are committed to restoring it to its true glory,” CEO of Emaar Hospitality Group Olivier Harnisch said.

The hotel is located in Marassi, the tourism destination by Emaar Misr in Al Alamein city, less than 45 minutes away from Al Alamein National Airport and about two hours’ drive from Burj Al Arab Airport in Alexandria.

Built in 1960, the hotel’s transformation will preserve its historic architectural character while adding modern amenities. It will comprise 189 rooms including luxury chalets and will feature several enhanced amenities, including an outdoor seating overlooking the bay, a beach outlet, rooftop lounge, fitness center, swimming pool, tennis court, and spa.

Visitors will also have access to Marassi’s marina, yacht club, golf course, beach clubhouse, play areas, restaurants, meeting facilities, outdoor pools and decks.

“We accept nothing less than the highest world class standards for our projects and clients in Egypt and the transformation of the Al Alamein Hotel is testament to our determination to deliver a superior hospitality product in Egypt,” Chairman of Emaar Properties Mohamed Alabbar said.

The new Alamein Hotel, the fourth hotel project by Emaar Hospitality Group in Egypt, will be managed by Vida Hotel and Resorts. The project’s general contractor Orascom Construction is expected to deliver the project this summer.
