Emaar’s Address Makes Debut in North Coast with New Resort

Emaar Hospitality Group’s Address Hotels & Resorts has made a debut on Egypt’s North Coast with its first resort in Egypt, called “Address Marassi Golf Resort,” after seven months of steady construction work, Invest-Gate reports.

Marassi’s newest exquisite getaway was officially inaugurated in the presence of Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled El Anany and Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar, among other officials and dignitaries representing Emaar Misr, according to the company’s official statement on July 26.

Extending over 624 acres, in close proximity to the picturesque beaches in Sidi Abdel Rahman Bay, Address Marassi Golf Resort is poised to change the face of the hospitality industry in the North Coast of Egypt, coming with an investment cost of EGP 950 mn and marking the second of nine hotels that Emaar Hospitality Group will open in the area.

Address Marassi Golf Resort, designed as a Tuscan style low-rise resort, counts with 48 rooms and suites overlooking Marassi’s 18-hole signature golf course, which was designed by renowned designer Peter Harradine, in addition to 82 serviced apartments. It also features five restaurants, two outdoor swimming pools, one indoor pool, alongside the world-class “The Spa at Address,” and a private 250-square-meter ballroom.

Emaar’s latest development comes in line with the Egyptian government’s plans to develop the North Coast region, which in the past years has witnessed a notable boost in investments and urban development, the statement noted, pointing to the significance of rolling out more hotels to accommodate the occupancy rates year-round.

On his part, Founder and Chairman of Emaar Properties Mohamed Alabbar underlined, “The North Coast area, particularly the Sidi Abdelrahman Bay, has a distinct nature incomparable to anywhere else in the world. It is recognized as a cosmopolitan region where Mediterranean cultures blend in harmony.”

Alabbar stressed that Emaar Misr is keen on promoting diverse types of tourism that will contribute to enriching the Egyptian national income. Yacht tourism will play a key role given that Marassi houses the largest yacht marina south of the Mediterranean, with a 236-yacht capacity, along with offering maintenance services.

Currently, Emaar Properties’ investments in Egypt amount to EGP 200 bn, including an EGP 55 bn investment in Marassi project and another EGP 11.5 bn in Emaar Misr’s newly-launched compound in West Cairo, or “Cairo Gate.” The UAE-based company’s planned investments in its land for the latter Sheikh Zayed development are estimated at EGP 37.8 bn in the coming period.
