Emaar’s Dubai Hills Mall Sees On-Schedule Progress

Dubai’s real estate firm Emaar Development has announced achieving “new construction milestones” in its Dubai Hills Mall with over 60% of its structure completed, Invest-Gate reports.

With a workforce of about 5,000 on-site and more than 8.8 mn man hours achieved already, the developer confirmed in a statement on Sunday, June 3, the commencement of steel works for an 18-screen cineplex and the first glass skylight.

The developer also revealed the commencement of mockup work for facades, skylights, shopfronts, washrooms, and the finishes.

Situated in the heart of the Dubai Hills Estate, Dubai Hills Mall is setting “new standard in sustainable mall environments,” as it features solar harvesting shading system that will generate 6.5 megawatts annually, and thus, help save AED 120 mn in energy costs in 25 years, the developer’s statement reveals.

Offering about 2 mn square meters of gross leasable area, the mall will comprise nearly 650 trendy retail stores and food and beverage (F&B) outlets, the statement adds.

Additionally, Dubai’s upcoming new mall destination is set to feature four major family entertainment and leisure centers including an 18-screen cineplex, a 63,500 square feet hypermarket, numerous anchor retail experience stores, and dedicated parking lots for over 7,000 vehicles.

“Dubai Hills Estate is today one of the most sought-after lifestyle destinations in the city, with strong customer response to our residential launches. With the Dubai Hills Mall, we continue to build on our track-record of delivering exceptional lifestyle destinations with world-class amenities to serve the residents and visitors,” Managing Director of Emaar Properties Ahmad Al Matrooshi is quoted as saying.

“The mall will be a vibrant new addition to Dubai’s retail scene, offering retailers the opportunity to be part of one of the largest mega-developments in the city. We are working with leading consultants and contractors for the on-schedule opening of the mall,” Al Matrooshi adds.

However, Emaar Development did not provide further details regarding the project’s total cost.
