ET Solutions AG, a subsidiary of global leading energy solutions provider ET Energy, announces the construction of a 60.9 MW solar power project in Jordan for Saudi-based independent power producer ACWA Power, Invest-Gate reports.
The project is situated in Mafraq, 50 kilometers northeast of Amman, according to a statement. The project will become one of the largest 1500VDC PV plants in Europe, the Middle East and Africa when completed after 10 months, the statement reads.
“Working together with ET Solutions, our EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) Contractor, ACWA Power is proud and privileged to be able to invest in Jordan,” says ACWA Power’s President and CEO Paddy Padmanathan.
Padmanathan adds that the project will help Jordan utilize its renewable energy resources instead of consuming imported fossil fuels for power generation.
ACWA Power is the developer and the owner of this project. Once the project is complete, it will deliver power to Jordan’s National Electric Power Company at a tariff of 0.043 JD per kWh. This project was awarded in the Round II of the Photovoltaic Procurement program of the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
