EU Grants Egypt EGP 15M for Slums Development

The European Union has granted Egypt EGP 15 million for the development of small and medium-sized infrastructure projects targeting three areas in Greator Cairo, Giza Governor Mohammed Kamal al-Daly told Amwal Al Ghad.

The three chosen areas are Dahab Island, Warraq, and Bulaq Dakrur. Development plans include sanitation facilities, streets pavement and lighting, as well as schools, health care facilities.

The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Moustafa Madbouly, Vice Minister of Housing for Slums Development Ahmed Darwish, Development Program Coordinator, Guenter Vihinbol, and Germany Embassy’s Development Cooperation First Adviser Sebastian Lech.
