The Fayoum governorate paid EGP 72.5 million as late costs to eight contractors for executing infrastructure projects within the governorate expected to launch next March, Al Borsa reports.
The contracting companies include Arab Contractors, Al Nasr for General Contracting, Al Atlas for Trade & Development, and Oruba Group, according to the General Manager of Infrastructure project in Fayoum Mamdouh Abduallah.
Fayoum has previously held construction works that include developing 45 km last year assigned to nine contractors at a total investment cost of EGP 100 million. Fayoum is currently preparing to offer new tenders to implement four infrastructure projects next month that will include four connections to New Fayoum City.
A budget of EGP 180 million was previously assigned in Fayoum for developing existing roads and providing maintenance for main roads and extension roads, alongside implementing 14 projects for roads and street development in the cities.
