Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) Ibrahim Al-Arabi revealed “In conjunction with the curfew, the chambers began to take new precautionary steps,” according to Ahram Online.

Al-Arabi said, “These new precautions comprise of monitoring the market, as well as, following up on the availability of commodities especially basic ones on a daily basis.

Furthermore, he welcomed the decision of the curfew that the government took yesterday as a precautionary measure against COVID-19, and called on all citizens to adhere to the decision to get through this difficult time.

Moreover, he stressed that function rooms have turned into crisis management rooms, to continuously monitor the market situation and the availability of commodities, in order to release a real-time report about the markets in coordination with other authorities.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly had announced on March 24 a set of decisions to confront the coronavirus, including a curfew from 7 pm to 6 am for a period of two weeks, and a halt of all public and private mass transportation simultaneously for a period of two weeks.
