Egypt’s Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said that exporters will be exempted from introducing the fiscal position certificate needed for disbursing their arrears from the Export Support Fund, Ahram Online reports.
Maait also said the measure comes in line with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s directives during his meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on April 6.
The minister added that 30% of export arrears will be disbursed over three tranches from the Fund until June.
Maait clarified that his ministry has coordinated with the Trade and Industry Ministry to disburse the first tranche of exporters’ dues by 20% for those who signed settlement protocols with the two ministries under the investment initiative.
