A plan to build a smart green city in Upper Egypt’s Aswan governorate is currently underway, Invest-Gate reports.

Aswan’s Governor Magdy Hegazy announced that the blueprint for a new smart green city in the governorate is currently being designed.

The city will be constructed in the western desert extension of the ancient city of Aswan on an area of over 4,000 feddan.

The planned city is part of a nationwide expansion plan to accommodate Egypt’s growing population.

The new city will include different types of housing units to accommodate all social classes, as well as touristic hotels and resorts.
