Foreign Affairs Ministry Monitors Ongoing Preparations for Egypt’s Hosting of WUF12

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has convened a meeting to deliberate on arrangements for hosting the 12th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12) in Cairo from November 4 to 8, 2024, Invest-Gate reports.

Representatives from various governmental bodies and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) were in attendance.

Chaired by Hamdy Shaaban, Assistant Foreign Minister for International Cooperation, the meeting focused on finalizing preparations and optimizing the advantages of hosting the forum. Officials assessed the progress achieved by all collaborating ministries and institutions, underscoring the significance of showcasing Egypt’s global standing and addressing critical global concerns.

Furthermore, discussions centered on leveraging the event for urban development purposes. Egypt’s notable urban advancements over the past decade provide a platform to exhibit its accomplishments, boost real estate exports, and attract investments.

Emphasizing the private sector’s important role in showcasing their competencies and skills, the meeting highlighted the potential for fostering broader partnerships and enhancing visibility in international markets, particularly within Arab and African nations.
