Head of Shorouk City Authority Abdul Raouf El Gheity said the authority is currently building four new schools as part of its keenness to support the development of the city’s education system, Invest-Gate reports.
The new schools will have a total of 166 classrooms, El Gheity said in an official statement on April 20, confirming that the schools are set for completion and operation by the beginning of the upcoming academic year.
As for the location, the official noted that two primary schools are being developed in Shorouk City’s social and family housing areas, in addition to an international school in the city’s Mostakbal housing area, and the Nile International School in the services center.
Back in October, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has announced that the housing ministry plans to pump investments worth EGP 644.96 mn into El Shorouk City during FY 2018/19, according to a previous statement.
Additionally, Madbouly stressed that the ministry had allocated an additional EGP 300 mn to development projects in the city, bringing this year’s total investments to nearly EGP 1 bn.
