The Special Economic Zone Authority (Sezad) in Duqm awarded Omani-based Galfar Engineering and Construction the contract for the construction of a fisheries port, related marine, and road works in Duqm, reported Trade Arabia.
Both parties signed a contract worth $157 million at the Muscat Securities Market. Construction is expected to last 30 months, with an additional six months for mobilization.
The marine work, which is also part of the contract, includes dredging, reclamation, breakwaters, quay walls, and concrete floating pontoons with berthing facilities, navigation aids, finalized with ancillary works, according to Gulf Construction.
