Gov’t Allocates EGP 586.6 mn to New Qena in FY2018/19

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly revealed that EGP 586.6 mn were allocated for the development of Upper Egypt’s New Qena in FY 2018/19, Invest-Gate reports.

“A total of EGP 250 mn will be pumped into electricity projects, EGP 51 mn in roads and communication developments, EGP 70 mn in potable water projects, EGP 55.5 mn in sewage projects, EGP 20 mn in housing projects, in addition to EGP 162 mn in community service projects,” Madbouly said in a ministerial statement.

Head of New Qena Development Authority Radwan Abdel Rashid said that the new city has been witnessing a boom in its services, especially in the community services domains such as the educational, security, commercial, health, sports, and religious ones.

New Qena is one of the 20 fourth generation cities the government is establishing to accommodate 30 mn citizens.
