Egyptian housing ministry finished 90% of 4704 units, or 196 buildings, at the first phase of Sakan Misr middle-income project in New Mansoura, Invest-Gate reports.
The announcement came during Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem El-Gazzar’s on-site visit at the new city, accompanied by top officials from the ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), according to a ministerial statement on May 18.
The commercial market, which comprises eight shops, is also underway to serve the project’s residents.
During the tour, El Gazzar stressed, “We need to adhere to the project’s delivery deadlines.”
The first phase of the Corniche project in New Mansoura extends over 4.2 kilometers, comprising a promenade, seats, kids area, cafeterias, and bike lanes.
El Gazzar highlighted the necessity of the quality of the finishing works at the Corniche development, calling for increasing the green and parking areas to provide a suitable atmosphere for citizens.
He also emphasized the need for applying all the preventive and precautionary measures in all worksites to ensure the health and safety of workers.
In February 2020, the minister announced that 468 buildings, with 11,232 residential units, are underway at the JANNA luxury housing project in New Mansoura. He added that concrete structures are finalized for 433 buildings in the same residential project, while its finishing works are ongoing, according to an official statement released back then.
