New Mansoura saw about 4,704 residential units, within 196 buildings, 79% completed in Sakan Misr medium-income project, Invest-Gate reports.
Another 11,232 housing units, within 468 buildings, are being developed and finished by 55% in the new city’s JANNA luxury housing project, according to a ministerial statement on May 11.
This came during Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar’s tour to New Mansoura to follow up on the national projects being established in the new city. He also inspected the villas area, where 1,149 villas, comprising 2,103 units, are underway and are 17% finalized.
During the visit, El Gazzar also toured the new city’s promenade, or Corniche, which is 48% complete and is estimated to be done by next summer. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the eastern Corniche is being developed over 800 meters, while the Corniche’s west bank covers nearly 1,400 meters.
Supervisor of New Mansoura Mohamed Ragab revealed that pile foundations have been approved for the implementation of two towers, pointing out that 58 coastal buildings, encompassing 1,392 housing units, are currently under construction and are 40% done, according to the statement.
Two schools currently underway and are 10% established, in addition to eight commercial centers that reached an implementation rate exceeding 40% and a medical center that is 18% completed, Ragab pointed out.
The official added that infrastructure facilities at New Mansoura have commenced, whereby earthworks are 80% finished, while sewage networks and rainwater drainage systems are 30% and 20% completed, respectively.
Spanning across a total area of 6,270 acres, New Mansoura will be developed over four phases, with the first phase to be established on a total area of 2,063 acres and will encompass 1,200 villas and 25,000 social housing units, catering to different social classes, Ragab concluded.
