This was announced during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to follow up on the progress of projects being implemented in the new cities, where El Gazzar added that this comes amid ongoing construction of projects in different fields in New Aswan, including potable water, sanitation, agriculture, electricity, roads, and services.
Further, four nurseries are completed as well as three playgrounds and two schools. Other projects include the finishing of Azhar College for Girls and New Aswan Club, whilst 158-bed hospital, an urban health center, a fire station, and a complex for Azharite institutions are underway, the minister noted.
As for 18,421-acre New Mallawi, the first phase covers 880 acres, including an urgent phase on 165 acres, which will comprise 37 luxury villas that encompass 66 units. This comes on top of 106 buildings in JANNA luxury housing project, featuring 3,392 units. Also, various service projects and facilities, as well as infrastructure networks, will be completed on an area of 170 acres.
However, El Gazzar pointed out that drilling and boring works have started on New Rashid, which extends over 3,186 acres on the Mediterranean coastline, in addition to kicking off construction work at Bashaer Al Khair housing project for limited-income people.
During the meeting, officials reviewed plans for the restructuring and renovation of Magra El Oyoun aqueduct in Old Islamic Cairo, while bearing its historical appeal as a cultural and tourism hub, endeavoring to drive more distinguished tourism, service, and commercial projects.
