Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar said 3,744 social housing units are completed in New Qena, while 864 units are under construction, Invest-Gate reports.
Additionally, 1,340 housing units are being implemented in New Qena’s rental apartments axis, which will be dedicated to low-income citizens, El Gazzar said in an official statement on March 29.
Head of the New Qena Development Authority Radwan Abdel Rashid stressed that the new city is witnessing a boom in the implementation of various service buildings, including a health unit, a school, a 15-acre youth center, a parking complex, amongst others.
New Qena stretches over 24,200 acres, of which 7,618 acres are built-up area. It is located north of the Nile Delta, 8 kilometers away from Qena city. The government has pumped total investments of EGP 2.8 bn into the new city till now, with EGP 1.2 bn allocated for its housing sector only.
