Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar has stated that 816 residential units, or 34 buildings, have been implemented in the JANNA luxury housing project in Obour City, Invest-Gate reports.

Furthermore, 30 residential buildings have been initially handed over and four more are still in process for delivery, El Gazzar was quoted as saying in a press release on February 9.

El Gazzar pointed out that the development of the western axis of Obour City is progressing, with a length of 9.5 kilometers and an estimated cost of about EGP 135 mn.

The axis connects the entrance of the city, on Cairo-Ismailia desert road, with Cairo-Belbeis road, and it aims to enhance traffic flow for the city’s residents, according to the ministerial statement.

The ministry allocated a total of EGP 2.4 bn for Obour City in the FY 2018/19. The number of social housing units being built in the city reached 26,448 units, with the overall completion rate standing at 80%, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced back then.
