Gov’t Inaugurates New Sphinx Authority’s Headquarters

Vice President of New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) Abdulmutallab Mamdouh inaugurated on January 28 the administrative headquarters of New Sphinx Authority, west Cairo, Invest-Gate reports.

Situated 55 kilometers from Cairo on Cairo-Alexandria Road, the new headquarters was successfully inaugurated during an opening ceremony, in the attendance of Head of the New Sphinx Development Authority Nour Ismail, according to a statement on the housing ministry’s official Facebook page.

According to Ismail, the authority has received a total of 300 applications for completing the legalization of “land-grabs,” in accordance with Law No. 144 of 2017, from October 7, 2018 until January 27, 2019, confirming that the new city’s database, as well as strategic and detailed plans, will be prepared on a case-by-case basis before next September.

The city is considered one of the fourth generation smart cities, which implements the criteria of sustainable development and relishes a privileged location due to its proximity to Sphinx International Airport and Pyramids of Giza, which deems it attractive for the establishment of mega tourism and leisure projects, the official noted.

Previously, Egypt’s Ministers of Civil Aviation and Tourism had witnessed the experimental operation of domestic flights for the first time from Sphinx International Airport, which began on January 25 and set to last until February 9, in a bid to boost the country’s tourism.
