Gov’t Pumps Almost EGP 2.2 bn Into Potable Water, Sewerage Projects

Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El Saeed has confirmed that the total value of potable water and sewerage treatment projects in Port Said, Damietta, and Ismailia has so far amounted to EGP 2.164 bn, Invest-Gate reports.

The breakdown of investments includes EGP 1.056 bn, EGP 473.2 mn, and EGP 635 mn in Port Said, Damietta, and Ismailia, respectively, El Saeed indicated in a recent ministerial statement.

Her remarks came on the sidelines of a delegation led by Mohamed Farid, head of the infrastructure sector at the ministry, to inspect some of the water supply and wastewater treatment projects underway across the three governorates.

The three-day tour was carried out in pursuance of El Saeed’s directives to regularly follow up on progress made at national projects that have a social and environmental dimension, not to mention a direct effect on people’s wellbeing, in line with the goals outlined in Egypt Vision 2030.
