The government has started the procedures to relocate slums inhabitants in the 129-building project in Katamya to Al Asmarat low-cost housing project, Invest-Gate reports.

The ministry offered 469 units in the second phase for reservation through freehold and leasehold systems from December 18 to 25, according to Hossam Rizk, Chairman of the General Authority for Construction and Housing Cooperatives.

A total of 133 families were relocated from the first phase of buildings in Katameya, and a total of 11 buildings were demolished.
