The Egyptian government is developing slum areas in Red Sea governorate with investments worth EGP 300 mn, Invest-Gate reports.
The government will complete the development of five informal settlements in Quseir, Safaga and Hurghada by the end of this year, Deputy Housing Minister Ahmed Adel Darwish said in a statement on his Facebook page.
The undertaking will provide 1,160 fully-furnished residential units, of which 850 are in Hurghada, 234 in Safaga and 76 in Quseir.
This comes as part of a plan to upgrade 351 slums across the country by 2018, Darwish’s statement added.
