Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar has revealed that a total of 3,024 units will be completed in Nasser City, west Assiut, by the end of August, Invest-Gate reports.
Construction works of 1,440 residential units at the city’s Sakan Misr middle-income project are 92% done, the minister said in a ministerial statement on July 6. In addition, a total of 1,584 social housing units are 90% completed in west Assiut.
“The first phase of Nasser City’s infrastructure networks is currently underway, including roads, water facilities, irrigation networks, sanitation services, an electric grid, and a communication network,” El Gazzar added.
He noted that works are also in progress at a 19-kilometer water reservoir and a water purification plant, with a capacity of 125,000 cubic meters per day.
Back in February, Assiut Governor Gamal Nour El Din said the government has so far pumped investments worth of EGP 3.5 bn in Nasser City’s social housing projects.
