Greco-Roman Museum in Alexandria’s Restoration Continues

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Al-Anany tours the Greco-Roman Museum in Alexandria, including the inspection of the museum general site, external facades, the museum building, the ground floor, the first floor, the administrative building, and the museum display scenario as restoration continues, Invest-Gate reports.

Accompanying Al-Anany were Mostafa Waziri, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Hisham Samir, assistant minister for Engineering Affairs and General Supervisor of Historic Cairo, Ali Omar, chairman of the Supreme Committee for Museum Exposition, Mahmoud Mabrouk advisor to the Minister for Museum Exposition, and Moamen Othman, head of the Museums Sector.

Waziri declares that the museum’s restoration and development project is being carried out in cooperation with the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, according to a protocol signed between the two sides back in 2017. The project’s fulfillment rate has reached more than 85% of the total works, he adds.

For his part, Othman says that the museum will display nearly 20,000 artifacts dating back to the Greek and Roman eras, according to the museum display scenario.
