Hawai for Tourism & Investment Launches Cairo Eye

Hawai for Tourism and Investment Company holds a press conference to officially announce the launch of the “Cairo Eye” project in the Zamalek area, Invest-Gate reports.

Cairo Eye achieves a strategic goal for sustainable tourism development, integration with “Ahl Misr Walkway project, in parallel with the government’s efforts to develop Cairo,” Major General Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo, says.

On his part, Ahmed Metwally, Chairman of Hawai for Tourism and Investment Company, says that the project is in line with the strategic plan and the vision of Egypt 2030, including an integrated plan for tourism development.

“Cairo Eye will be completed by 2022 to be the fifth-largest wheel after London, Dubai, Las Vegas, and Singapore,” he adds.

Metwally further reveals that the project’s investments have reached EGP500 mn, on a total area of ​​20,000 sqm, targeting up to 2.5 million visitors annually; besides it will provide direct job opportunities of 1,200 employees and 4,000 indirect opportunities.

The press conference was in the presence of Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning, Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Major General Khaled Abdel-Al, Governor of Cairo, and Abdel-Rahman Saeed, head of the Technical Secretariat for Regulating Disposal of State Assets.
