Hilton has signed a management agreement of the new DoubleTree by Hilton Resort with Mangroovy For Real Estate and Tourism Investment to bring its DoubleTree by Hilton brand to manage a new resort property in the Red Sea resort of El Gouna, Reuters-affiliated website Zawya reports.
Construction of the 179-room DoubleTree by Hilton Mangroovy El Gouna is expected to start later this year as part of Mangroovy Residence’s ambitious masterplan for the destination. The upscale DoubleTree by Hilton Mangroovy El Gouna resort will act as the focal point of the Mangroovy Residence compound, containing over 700 residential units on the unique and famous Mangroovy beach, alongside water sports facilities, multiple swimming pools, and a club house, in addition to a number of restaurants at the beachfront and in the resort
Carlos Khneisser, vice president, development, Hilton MENA&T, said: “This outstanding project being developed by Mangroovy For Real Estate and Tourism Investment is indicative of the premium quality we are looking for as we continue to refresh our resort portfolio in Egypt. The level of investment in El Gouna leaves it well positioned to become one of Egypt’s most desirable destinations. In developing this resort, alongside such an experienced real estate developer as Mangroovy, we are beginning what will hopefully prove a long and fruitful partnership.”
Mona El Sewedy, chairman of Mangroovy For Real Estate and Tourism Investment, said: “We are delighted to be working with Hilton to develop one of the first resorts under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand in Egypt. Bringing an established international brand such as this into the Mangroovy Residence’s masterplan will allow us to cater to an audience of global travelers accustomed to the level of upscale accommodation and service that we will be offering at this resort and residences.”
The resort will offer guests an array of Food and Beverage outlets, including both a beach and pool bars, a speciality restaurant, health club, spa and meeting/banquet space of over 1000 square meter. Its design will reflect the modern yet tranquil atmosphere of El Gouna, which has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence as a preferred holiday venue for Egyptians and international travelers since being founded in 1989.
The town is easily accessed from the nearby Hurghada International Airport and boasts a superb infrastructure and excellent services as well as natural beaches, stunning lagoons, all year-round sunshine, and some of the best diverse water sports venues in Egypt. Its network contains two marinas and a number of natural lagoons that create a Venetian style atmosphere. Hilton currently operates seventeen hotels in Egypt and DoubleTree by Hilton Mangroovy El Gouna will add to the eight properties it currently has under development in the market.
