The Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Assem EL Gazzar, declares that 27,168 housing unit have been implemented under the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative in the 2,600-acre area, New Obour City, Invest-Gate reports.

El Gazzar further highlights that around 42 buildings comprising 1,008 housing units for the low-income segment have been implemented under the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative in New Obour City during 2021, the ministerial statement reveals.

For his part, Ahmed Ali, head of the New Obour City Development Authority, explains that 806 buildings comprising 19,433 housing units (model 90 sqm) for low-income people are underway under the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative.

Moreover, he adds that 53 buildings comprising 1,272 housing units (model 75 sqm) for the low-income segment are being implemented in the 14th district, in addition to 96 buildings as an alternative project for residents of unsafe slums. The buildings include 3,360 housing units, 96 shops, and 96 administrative units.

Additionally, he reveals the start of implementation of 624 buildings, comprising about 14,976 housing units (model 90 sqm) in the 15th and 16th districts.

Furthermore, he points out that 73 buildings comprising 1,752 housing units have been completed under the “Sakan Misr” project over a 2,600-acre area, bringing the total that has been implemented in the city to 2,040 housing units (85 buildings). Moreover, he remarks that 78 buildings, comprising 1,872 housing units, have been completed under the distinguished housing project of a modern nature in that area.

Ali further elaborates that service projects in the New Obour City reached 40 service buildings, and the work of the electricity and communications network and the connection of natural gas has been started, in addition to the implementation of 22 km of the city’s main road network.
