Housing Minister Affirms Ongoing Campaigns to Remove Building Violations, Occupations in Multiple New Cities

Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has affirmed the ongoing efforts to eradicate building violations and occupations in various new cities, Invest-Gate reports.

He emphasized the uncompromising stance against violators, stressing the strict enforcement of laws to eradicate haphazard developments, uphold the aesthetic appeal of new urban areas, and safeguard the state’s reputation.

El Sherbini underscored that no settlements will be reached for violations occurring after the enactment of Law No. 187 of 2023, which addresses reconciliation in specific building infractions and the legalization of their status, including its regulations and revisions. He urged individuals with building infractions falling under the reconciliation law to promptly file reconciliation requests before the November 4 deadline.

In a related development, Mohamed El Sayed Abdel Maqsoud, Head of Shorouk City Authority, confirmed the authority’s unwavering commitment to combat illegal constructions and address violations decisively. The removal committee has already executed two decisions to dismantle illicit structures on the rooftops of two residential buildings in the city’s eastern first and second districts, where unauthorized building extensions were observed.

Abdel Maqsoud highlighted that actions have been taken to halt transactions involving these properties and compel violators to cover the removal expenses. He urged landowners to adhere strictly to building regulations, refrain from unauthorized construction activities, and channel investments into developments aligned with approved permits.

Additionally, Yasser Abdel Halim Hassan, Head of the Sadat City Authority, disclosed the initiation of a collaborative campaign with the construction police, leading to the enforcement of 10 closure and sealing orders for residential plots that breached contracting and allocation regulations across different sectors of the city.

Meanwhile, the New Beni Suef City Authority, under the leadership of Ahmed Abdel-Gaber, conducted a joint operation with the Utilities Police and the Building Police to eliminate violations and encroachments within the city.
