Housing Minister Announces Commencement of 55,000 New Residential Units Under Sakan Kol El Masryeen Initiative in New October City

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El-Gazzar has announced the initiation of 55,000 new housing units as part of the sixth phase of the Sakan Kol El Masryeen presidential initiative, Invest-Gate reports.

This initiative is located in the West Airport area of New October City, divided into three sectors (A, B, C) spanning over 3,000 acres, with a total cost reaching EGP31 bn.

El-Gazzar affirmed that this aligns with the state’s policy to provide suitable housing and dignified living standards for citizens across income segments.

It also aims to regulate urban development and implement proper planning for modern area development while contributing to employment opportunities through national projects executed by the state.

Moreover, during the minister’s inspection of several ongoing projects in New October City, he emphasized meticulous monitoring of project implementation rates, adherence to quality and technical specifications, intensifying labor and equipment at work sites, and ensuring project completion within set deadlines.

Furthermore, Mohamed Abdel-Maqsoud, head of the New October Authority, stated the completion of surveying and soil studies for the sixth phase of the Sakan Kol El Masryeen initiative. Construction has commenced for some buildings alongside the engagement of specialized consulting bodies to oversee work by engineering specifications, ensuring the desired quality.

Mahmoud Morad, Vice President of the New October Development Authority, highlighted the completion of 5,856 new housing units in the West Airport area as part of the Sakan Kol El Masryeen initiative. This brings the city’s total executed and ready-for-delivery units to 16,152 residential units.
