Housing Minister Checks Out New Alamein for Latest Updates

The first phase of New Alamein’s seven-kilometer corniche is 85% completed, while construction works have already begun on 12,000 housing units in the new city’s Latin Quarter, Invest-Gate reports.

This was revealed during a seven-hour tour by Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar in New Alamein on March 16, where he visited a couple of universities, downtown area, the Latin Quarter, and historical city, according to a recent ministerial statement. 

In its statement, the ministry revealed that the 64-acre Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport encompasses 34 buildings and 12 colleges, including four colleges to be operated in the forthcoming academic year. The university’s concrete structures are 80% completed, with its finishing works already been started.

Additionally, New Alamein city will also comprise a national university that spans across 128 acres and includes 13 colleges, of which four are expected to operate in the upcoming academic year, in addition to four residential buildings, an administrative building, and a library. The university’s concrete structures are 85% implemented.

As for the downtown area, it will include 40 residential buildings, of which 15 buildings are already completed with 1,320 units that vary in size and modules and are ranging in areas between 90 and 300 meters.

Meanwhile, the 260-acre heritage city is 40% completed, which is set to feature 70 facilities, including the main lake, a central park, a cinema complex, and an opera.
