Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting with the General Manager of Onspec Engineering and Contracting Company, the Regional Manager of Rehlko International Company (formerly Kohler) in Egypt and the Middle East, and representatives from similar companies to discuss joint cooperation regarding the transfer of expertise in the manufacture of electricity generators, Invest-Gate reports.

This meeting took place during his current visit to France, reflecting the Egyptian government’s commitment to transferring modern technology to localize and enhance the industry.

The Minister emphasized that the meeting aims to facilitate the transfer of expertise that could help improve the efficiency of current and future projects. Discussions focused on how Rehlko’s expertise in manufacturing electric generators could be leveraged in Egypt, as the company supplies numerous units for water and sewage station projects.

He expressed his ongoing commitment to implementing the state’s vision of localizing industry to reduce the import bill and to enhance all projects carried out by the Ministry of Housing.

El Sherbini noted that the meeting reviewed Rehlko’s products, particularly the power generation units ranging from 1 kilovolt-ampere to 4,500 kilovolt-amperes. They also explored ways to utilize emergency generation units in various projects executed by the Ministry of Housing and the New Urban Communities Authority, as well as those under the presidential initiative “Decent Life.”

The Minister stressed the importance of training Egyptian technical staff on the operation and maintenance of these units to ensure the system’s continued efficient and regular operation.

It is worth mentioning that Rehlko International Company (formerly Kohler) is one of the largest international companies specializing in the manufacture of electrical generating units, with its factory located in Brest, France.
