Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting to follow up on the status of land regularization in the added areas of the cities of (Sheikh Zayed City – New Sphinx City – New Obour City – El Shorouk City – New October City – 6th of October City). The meeting was attended by Dr. Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for Urban Communities, Eng. Ahmed Omran, Deputy Minister of Housing for Utilities, as well as ministry officials and heads of the respective city authorities, Invest-Gate reports.
Minister of Housing Stresses the Importance of Continuous Follow-Up on the Regularization File
During the meeting, the Minister of Housing emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to accelerating performance rates in the land regularization file, facilitating procedures for serious applicants, and fully adhering to the governing laws and regulations to safeguard state rights and serve the public interest. She directed that applications meeting the required conditions be promptly processed, contractual procedures completed, and any obstacles facing citizens during the regularization stages be removed, while ensuring transparency and compliance with approved legal and technical standards.
Reviewing Latest Developments and Strategic Objectives of Land Regularization
The meeting reviewed the latest developments regarding status reconciliation for lands added to the cities of (Sheikh Zayed – New Sphinx – New Obour – El Shorouk – New October – 6th of October), along with a report on the objectives of the regularization process.
These objectives include taking into account the social and economic dimensions of citizens through considerations of social justice, supporting small landholders through progressive social segments that reflect citizens’ financial capacities, maximizing the utilization of state-owned land, and stimulating investment in partnership with the private sector.

The meeting also reviewed the role of the Policy Unit at the New Urban Communities Authority, which is responsible for setting policies and controls for handling files and contracts issued by previous jurisdictions, approving regulations for all existing and new cases, proposing solutions to reconciliation challenges, and establishing appropriate mechanisms for handling each case. The development of the regularization mechanism was also discussed.
The meeting further addressed the latest updates on status reconciliation for lands added to Sheikh Zayed City with a total area of 10,898 feddans; lands added to New Sphinx City totaling 73,284 feddans; lands added to New Obour City totaling 37,919 feddans; lands added to El Shorouk City totaling 4,732 feddans; lands added to New October City totaling 11,518 feddans; and lands added to 6th of October City totaling 902.82 feddans.
The meeting concluded with Minister Randa El-Menshawy reaffirming the need for continuous follow-up on the regularization file and taking the necessary measures to finalize all applications as quickly as possible, in a way that ensures legal stability for citizens and preserves the rights of the state.
