Sherif El Sherbini, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted an inspection of the progress of the “Fustat Hills Park” project in Cairo Governorate, Invest-Gate reports.

The park is situated adjacent to the Museum of Civilization, Ain El-Sira Lake, the Religious Complex, and Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque.

The project is under the stewardship of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, facilitated by the Greater Cairo Reconstruction Agency, subsequent to his review of the Azbakeya Garden Development and Revitalization Project.

At the inception of his visit to the project site, El Sherbini convened a comprehensive meeting with representatives from the contracting firms engaged in the project, the project consultant, and officials from the Ministry, the Central Agency for Reconstruction, and the New Urban Communities Authority to delve into the detailed status of all project components.

The Minister issued directives to intensify efforts and accelerate the pace of implementation for “Fustat Hills Park” to ensure timely completion.

During his tour of the “Fustat Hills Park” components to assess progress on the ground, the Minister emphasized that the park stands as one of the largest in the Middle East. Spanning an area of approximately 500 feddans, it occupies a central location within historic Cairo.

The park is a key element in the state’s initiatives to enhance historic Cairo, offer green spaces for public enjoyment, and augment access to green and communal areas for individuals.

El Sherbini elaborated on the park’s features, comprising 8 distinct areas and 14 gates (comprising main and auxiliary gates of various styles, including contemporary, historical, and garden gates), with a focus on expanding green spaces.
