Housing Minister Inspects Sanitation Project in Mokattam

Minister of Housing Assem El-Gazzar on Thursday inspected the progress of work on the sanitation development project in the El-Hadaba El-Wosta and El-Hadaba El-Olia districts and the expansions of the main lift station in the Mokattam plateau, Invest-Gate reports.

The project is being implemented by the housing ministry, represented by the National Authority of Potable Water and Sewage (NOPWASD), and through the Greater Cairo Sanitary Drainage Company (GCSDC), at a cost of more than EGP 600 mn.

The project includes three main components: the main slope line, the expansions of the main lift station, and the expulsion line. The project serves the areas of the El-Hadaba El-Olia, cooperative housing, Asmarat, the Ebad El-Rahman project, and Uptown Cairo.

El-Gazzar stressed the necessity of setting a compressed and intensive time program to complete the implementation of the various components of the project with the highest quality.

He directed for the use of all available energies and capabilities and the best modern methods and equipment, following up on the project work around the clock to complete it as quickly as possible.

The minister also listened to a detailed explanation from the head of the GCSDC about the status of the project’s work progress, the size of labour and equipment, and the modern techniques used in the implementation.
