Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem El-Gazzar issued four decisions to prevent building violations on Al-Warraq Island, the northwest coast, and in the cities of Obour and Sadat, Invest-Gate reports.
El-Gazzar stressed the need to prevent violations of all kinds and to take necessary measures against violators, with the aim of eliminating illegal construction in new cities. He instructed heads of city agencies to enforce the decisions.
The decisions called for the removal of 31 building violations on Al-Warraq Island, represented by unauthorized construction work. They also targeted a car manufacturing company in Obour City that built unauthorized workshops over 57,504 sqm of land in the industrial district.
Additionally, a company that built a swimming pool, metal structures and a caravan on a school plot without proper permits in Sadat City was ordered to remove the violations. Finally, five fully constructed shops lacking permits in a tourist village on the northwestern coast were set for removal.
The housing ministry assigned the development agencies for Al-Warraq Island, the northwest coast, Obour and Sadat, with assistance from reconstruction police, to carry out the demolition orders.
