Housing Minister Meets a Delegation of French Businessmen and Officials

The Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities,  Moustafa Madbouly, met with a delegation of French businessmen and company officials operating in the fields of construction, utilities, financial institutions, and advisory offices, on the sidelines of the French President’s visit to Cairo, reported Invest Gate.

The Minister of Housing said that the French delegation expressed keen interest in identifying investment opportunities and development projects that are currently offered by the state, with particular emphasis on the new administrative capital projects, the New Alamein city, and the East of Port Said project.

“French consultants expressed their desire to participate in the planning and design of the new administrative capital. Also, officials of financial institutions have also offered to provide the necessary loans for the New Urban Communities Authority to start the implementation of various projects,” Madbouly added.

The Minister also said that the French delegation included experts operating in the field of sanitation and drinking water.  “They offered to participate in the implementation of sewage triple water treatment plants, especially that there is a great experience for the French side in this area. There is also a joint cooperation with Egypt, where they are constructing ‘The East’ purification plant in Alexandria with one of the major French companies,” Madbouly continued.

During the meeting, Madbouly described various projects and investment opportunities presented by the Ministry of Housing, both in the new administrative capital and other new cities, and he also welcomed the participation of the French companies in the construction and development currently taking place in Egypt.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to organize a detailed workshops between the ministry and specialized companies to discuss aspects of joint cooperation and projects.
