Housing Minister Meets U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to Boost Cooperation

Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, received Mr. Robert Silverman, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, along with his accompanying delegation, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to discuss avenues for bolstering bilateral cooperation between Egypt and the United States, Invest-Gate reports.

​At the outset of the meeting, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy welcomed the Acting U.S. Ambassador and his delegation, emphasizing that Egyptian-American relations represent a vital model of long-standing partnership. She highlighted Egypt’s commitment to continuously strengthening joint coordination to serve mutual interests and advance development and stability, commending the steady progress of bilateral relations across various sectors.

​The Minister pointed out the significant developmental and urban boom Egypt has experienced in recent years through the implementation of major national projects and the establishment of integrated new cities. She noted that these projects unlock broad prospects for partnership with the private sector as well as international companies and institutions, thereby driving investment, facilitating knowledge exchange, and leveraging state-of-the-art technologies in urban development.

New Investment Opportunities and Enhanced Cooperation in Seawater Desalination

​For his part, Mr. Robert Silverman expressed his enthusiasm for deepening collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and expanding partnerships with American businesses and organizations, citing Egypt’s promising investment climate and large-scale development projects. He also commended the nationwide urban growth and architectural transformation currently taking place across the country.

​The meeting covered several key issues of common interest, including prospective investment opportunities in new cities and potential cooperation in seawater desalination using advanced technologies and global expertise. The Minister reaffirmed that the Ministry prioritizes international partnerships to support sustainable urban development, enhance infrastructure efficiency, boost the competitiveness of new cities, and attract foreign direct investment.

​Eng. Randa El-Menshawy underscored the importance of building on the meeting’s outcomes to open new horizons for collaboration with U.S. enterprises in priority areas.
