Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has been monitoring the progress of drinking water and sanitation services in Beheira Governorate, overseeing the execution of ongoing and completed projects aimed at enhancing public welfare, Invest-Gate reports.
These initiatives are undertaken through various ministry-affiliated entities, often in collaboration with development partners, aligning with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to bolster services that directly impact the lives of Egyptian citizens, ultimately elevating their quality of life.
El Sherbini disclosed that over the past decade under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s leadership, 27 drinking water projects in Beheira Governorate have been successfully implemented, boasting a collective daily capacity of 353,000 m3 at a total cost of EGP 3.638 bn. Additionally, 67 sanitation projects have been completed at a cost of EGP 3.725 bn.
He further highlighted the delivery of networks associated with the Abbasi Water Station in Dalengat, with the remaining networks slated for sequential delivery upon the completion of the new Rahmaneya Water Station project and its networks.
Furthermore, El Sherbini emphasized the successful conclusion of all projects under the first phase of the results-based sustainable sanitation services program in rural areas of Beheira Governorate. This program, executed in collaboration with the World Bank by the Beheira Water and Drainage Company under the supervision of the Ministry’s Project Management Unit, signifies a significant milestone in bolstering sanitation infrastructure.
El Sherbini also noted the ongoing delivery of numerous drinking water and sanitation projects in the governorate, overseen by the National Authority of Potable Water and Sewage, reflecting a concerted effort to enhance essential services for the region’s residents.
