Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, reviewed the implementation status of housing projects in New Cairo City (Sakan Misr, Jannah, and Housing for All Egyptians), along with utilities and station projects, Invest-Gate reports.

He also assessed what was accomplished during 2024 through a report on the city’s projects over the past year.

El Sherbini explained that 64 utility network projects have been and are being implemented in the areas of Eastern Extension, Fifth Settlement, First Settlement, Sixth Settlement, Southern Extension, and Third Settlement in New Cairo City.

These projects include the establishment of sewage pumping stations and the construction of main and sub-networks for water, sewage, and irrigation during 2024.

Additionally, he noted that efforts are underway to implement a strategy to develop, rehabilitate, and enhance the efficiency of the drinking water and sanitation systems in New Cairo City.

This initiative aims to address challenges arising from climate change, population growth, and new communities, with a focus on establishing sustainable infrastructure by improving all drinking water and sanitation stations and lifts in the city.

Furthermore, El Sherbini highlighted that the implementation of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians” in New Cairo is in progress, with 222 buildings comprising 5,328 units, each ranging from 90 to 120 sqm.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to industry standards for roadworks and completing tasks on time.

Moreover, he called for the completion of 24 buildings with 576 housing units in the Jannah project and 19 residential buildings with 456 housing units in the Sakan Misr project at the Exhibition Grounds in the Third Settlement, in order to facilitate the delivery of the units to their buyers.
