Housing Minister Monitors Work on “Housing for All Egyptians” Initiative Across Four New Cities

Sherif El Sherbini, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has recently reviewed the progress of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative in four new cities: New Cairo, Hadayek El Asimah, 15th of May, and New Obour, Invest-Gate reports.

The initiative aims to provide suitable housing for various income levels as part of the government’s broader urban development strategy.

Following President Abdelfattah El Sisi’s directives, El Sherbini emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering housing that meets the needs of all social segments.

The Ministry’s approach focuses on three key areas: providing support for low-income families, offering affordable housing for middle-income earners, and making available properties for higher-income groups. This strategy ensures social justice by using funds from higher-income housing to subsidize low-income housing and improve unsafe areas.

In New Cairo, Abdel Raouf El-Gheity, head of the New Cairo City Development Authority, inspected ongoing projects, including 222 buildings with 5,328 units. He emphasized the importance of adhering to quality standards and meeting project deadlines.

Moreover, Ammar Mandour, head of the Hadayek El Asimah City Development Authority, reviewed the progress of infrastructure works and the construction of residential units. He stressed the need for timely completion of roadworks and other essential services.

On May 15th, Ali Saad, head of the city’s development authority, oversaw the start of road paving in the Narges area. The project includes comprehensive service buildings and parking facilities, and it will serve 11,160 residential units.

Notably, Ahmed Ismail, head of the New Obour City Development Authority, assessed the construction of 433 residential buildings in the city’s 16th district. He urged contractors to expedite work while maintaining quality and safety standards to ensure timely project delivery.
